Abstract

In this talk, we will delve into Saudi Aramco's expansion of their unconventional resources and the integral role water plays in this development. We will explore the use of water for fracking wells and the subsequent management of produced water over the life of these wells. Additionally, I will address the pressing issue of aquifer recharge, or rather the significant lack of fresh water thereof, both globally and specifically in regions like Texas and Saudi Arabia.
